Our Miracle

It's hard to believe that one year ago, today, I gave birth to the most perfect, beautiful baby girl.  A baby girl who is a complete miracle and gift from God.

Our Hayley was born with a true knot.  A true knot is when the umbilical cord has a knot that is completely tight.  It is rare and dangerous because it can cut off vital functions to the baby (blood flow, and therefore, oxygen).  We are beyond thankful that our sweet girl was 100% okay.

Our doctor cried when she saw Hayley's cord because she has delivered babies with true knots who didn't make it through their delivery alive.  We know and give all thanks to Jesus for protecting our girl during her delivery.

Today we celebrate our miracle, our pride and joy, our Hayley Joy.

Christmas

Merry Christmas!

It was even more magical than usual
because we got to share it with our little blessing!

This kid is a mover and a groover!  She doesn't care to stop for anything!  Thus, the very blurry picture.  Nick wasn't home so I was trying to snag a photo of her before she crawled away.  It's actually quite fitting because she is a blur... moving anywhere she can!

Hayley is crawling, cruising on furniture, and has officially taken her first few steps!  She prefers to crawl still because it's faster, but she can walk.

Hayley took her first airplane ride this month!  We flew to Oregon for a week to celebrate Thanksgiving with family.  We also attended our cousin Tony's wedding.  This was Hayley's third wedding... pretty impressive for a 10 month old!  She loved dancing on the dance floor.  Glad she got her Daddy's genes in that department.
